Savanna is a thriving, privately owned family business based in London, founded in 2005. Like most start-ups, it wasn't a bed of roses in the beginning: we didn’t have a business plan - in fact we didn’t know what one was back then - and none of us had a clue about accounts and didn’t bother keeping any for the first two years. So from day one we were in financial chaos – not very smart.
Times have changed and our owners (Lisa and Marie Gardshol) have invested heavily in turning Savanna into a real business: Marie's advertising background has helped take our brand from strength to strength while Lisa's management experience at Marks and Spencer has proven invaluable in helping us grow up. Savanna now has six shops in London, an online ordering service
for UK-wide deliveries, a purpose built butchery, 3,000 square foot warehouse and 20 staff dedicated to making and selling the best south african and zim food in UK.
Good friendly customer service is Savanna's core principle. Our standards are high, they are all clean and well laid out with friendly first-rate staff. We are now serving almost 10,000 customers per week, double last year's level. Looking ahead, while we plan to keep on growing, it will never, ever be because we have compromised on the quality of what we do. There are too many people working here who are just as passionate about this business as us: and they would never let that happen. To all of you, from all of us at The Savanna - Thank you!
